It was the honor of a lifetime directing my dear friend Matteo Lane’s first major comedy special. Mangia!

This project began its life as a self-produced 5-minute tongue-in-cheek love letter to "Are You Afraid of the Dark". We then had the chance to expand it into a pilot presentation with Tim & Eric’s production company Absolutely, and studio Super Deluxe.
Then, TruTV exhibited great taste and ordered it to series. We shot a full season of episodes, and it aired as the tentpole of TruTV’s “Late Night Snack”.

I recently completed production on Netflix's 5-time Daytime Emmy nominated sketch comedy series, "The Who Was Show", where I directed nearly half of the first season's 13 episode run.
Based on Penguin Publishing's hit series of biography books, "Who Was", the show stars Andy Daly and an ensemble of insanely talented and funny teens, who help tell the true stories of these famous and infamous names from history.
With it's stacked writing staff including Brian McCann (Conan), Elliott Kalan & Delaney Yeager (The Daily Show), Eric Gilliland (Roseanne), and boasting a healthy roster of celebrity guest appearances, the show is clean comedy that will appeal to both parents and kids alike.
Have a look at a few of my favorite segments from the season to the right, along with the show’s trailer and a fun behind-the-scenes video. And if you’re a Netflix subscriber, you can go binge the entire first season of “The Who Was Show” right now!

I had the honor of directing one of the film units for Lorne Michaels' NBC primetime variety show, "Maya & Marty", starring Maya Rudolph & Martin Short. It was a real dream come true to direct these living legends. Fun fact: This whole sketch was filmed in one day.

Well now, this was a special one. Here was the ask: Create a one-off special to promote Netflix & The Obama’s new kid’s food show, “Waffles + Mochi”. The special’s gonna star some of the biggest names on the planet (Michelle Obama, Jennifer Garner, Jack Black, Samin Nosrat, Timbaland, Anya Taylor-Joy), along with Waffles + Mochi themselves and several other puppets (and puppeteers!) from the show. Oh, and nearly all of it needs to be filmed remotely because of Covid. Ready, GO!
Suffice to say this was one the craziest, most challenging, and ridiculously satisfying productions I’ve ever had the pleasure of being a part of. Have a look at the full special above, and a few of our star-studded segments below.

I directed a full season of sketches for VH1’s new comedy series, “Grown & Sexy”. More than just a survival guide to your thirties, “Grown & Sexy” provides an outline on how to thrive.
While cross-boarding all 14 sketches simultaneously was ambitious to say the least, we managed to pull it off, and had a blast with our cast and special guest stars along the way. Season One premiers in January 2019!

I had the pleasure of directing this pilot presentation for the E! network, hosted by the inimitable Nikki Glaser. In it, her comic friends read crazy stories straight from celebrity memoirs, and as they recount the tales, we mount full-scale productions, recreating the wild events as described in the books. Be sure to check out both segments!

I had the pleasure of directing the extraordinarily talented Dave & Ethan in a full season of half-hours for their variety series on NBC's digital comedy platform, SeeSo.

Mike Kelton is an amazing and magnetic talent, and I was thrilled to direct this weekly topical MTV pilot, starring him and a bunch of other great comedians.
The show began its life as a presentation sizzle, titled "The Hotspot with Mike Kelton". Have a look below!
Also be sure to watch the additional interview segment with VH1 host Shannon Coffey.

I was thrilled to direct the opening and closing segments for a new MTV comedy variety pilot, "Daily Disorder".
The "Next Time On" is a fun sketch segment, placing each of the show's stars in a heavily genre-fied cinematic moment, apropos of nothing. For the opening, we took to the streets, and let the people of Times Square do the talking.

Comedian Kyle Ayers had the brilliant idea of soliciting porn parody scripts off of Craigslist, then performing those scripts live on stage with his comedian friends. The show, First Comes Love, became wildly popular, and MTV asked me to help them develop it into a television show.
